1/3cupbuttermelted in pan you will use to cook cake
2/3cupbrown sugarto sprinkle on melted butter

1cupgranulated sugar
1cupflour
1teaspoonbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
1/3cuppineapple juicefrom the can
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Set oven to 375°F
Use a rectangular, square (9x9) or round pan. Melt butter in pan in the oven. Sprinkle brown sugar on the melted butter.
In a mixer mix the egg yolks with sugar until light colored and fluffy. Transfer to another bowl and clean the mixer bowl.
Beat egg whites in mixer until still peaks.
Combine the dry ingredients (sifted), the egg yolk mixture, and the egg whites by gently folding.
Place the pineapples on the pan. Add cherries (or in our case cranberries) to the middle of the rings. Carefully cover with batter. Bake in oven 25-35 minutes.
After removing from oven allow to cool for 3-5 minutes. While still warm invert onto a serving tray. Delicious warm, or the next day.
