Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking pan (9" circle, 8" circle, or 9×9" square all work)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Stand mixer or hand mixer (hard to do this one by hand)

Ingredients

  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Each Eggs
  • 3/4 Cup Fresh wheat flour (grind yourself or order from a local mill)
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350°F
  • Melt butter on stovetop
  • Cream butter and sugar thoroughly on a medium to high speed in a stand mixer or using a hand mixer. This will likely take 2-3 minutes. You want it to be fluffy and light in color.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat on high until mixture is very light and fluffy. Approximately 1-3 minutes.
  • Combine dry ingredients.
  • Add butter sugar egg mixture to the dry ingredients. Combine but don't overmix. Add the chocolate chips. Use spatula to scrape into baking dish
  • Bake until brownies are undercooked at center, but firm at edge and just cooked 1/2 way from edge to center. This will likely be 12-15 minutes depending on your oven.
