  • Cast iron skillet
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of Cornmeal (Buy from Pymouth Grist Mill!)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Cups of buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F
  • Heat skillet on stovetop
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix wet ingredients in a bowl.
  • Combine but don’t overmix
  • Melt butter in skillet
  • Add batter to skillet
  • Allow to sizzle for a minute on the stovetop then put in the oven.
  • Bake until the center is just done (see video)
